Rare Beauty debuts an inclusive eau de parfum and layering balms. The Rare Beauty fragrance blends gourmand-spicy notes and globally sourced ingredients. Read along to know more about it.
Rare Beauty is entering fragrance with its inaugural eau de parfum and a quartet of fragrance layering balms. With this, the brand is expanding its wellness-minded, inclusive philosophy into olfactory territory. The debut underscores personalisation, performance, and thoughtful design. These beings the key pillars for a community that values self-expression.
Crafted in France with a master perfumer
The perfume came to life in France alongside perfumer Jérôme Epinette of Robertet. The vegan composition leans gourmand and spicy without sacrificing elegance. It opens with caramel, pistachio, pink pepper, vanilla, and ginger, settling into an enveloping sandalwood drydown that wears comfortably from day into night.
Global ingredients and conscious sourcing
Rare Beauty highlights an international palette: pink pepper from Australia, ginger from Nigeria, and upcycled cocoa beans from West Africa. Additionally, the sandalwood is from New Caledonia and tonka beans from Venezuela.
Made to be customised
The eau de parfum can be worn solo or paired with one of four Fragrance Layering Balms—Woody Oak, Floral Peony Blossom, Amber Vanilla, and Fresh Bergamot. Each primer allows creating a signature scent.
Inclusive design at the core
In partnership with certified hand therapists and packaging engineers, Rare Beauty designed a luxe, ergonomic flacon that accommodates limited grip and dexterity challenges. It ensures effortless handling and comfortable, controlled dispensing.
From the leadership desk
“My days are never the same, so I wanted a fragrance that evolves for the moment. Something that could take me from a quiet morning at home to a big night out—and always feels just right,” said Selena Gomez.“Instead of a very precision thin actuator, which are very difficult to use when you lose the dexterity in your fingers, we decided to make an oversized actuator,” highlighted Rare Beauty’s Chief Product Officer Joyce Kim.
