Indian cinema stars Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda tied the knot on February 26, paying homage to their cultural roots and rich heritage. As Vidhi Arya from Professional Beauty India decodes Rashmika and Vijay’s wedding looks, read along to know more.

Ever since Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverkonda shared their wedding pictures, the internet has gone ga-ga over their beautifully coordinated royal looks. For their big day, the couple chose heritage outfits and rich aesthetics. Breaking away from the monotony of pastel hues and fleeting trends, they chose heirloom jewellery, traditional textiles, and bold statements.

Rashmika Mandanna: The regal bride

The couple’s ensembles were designed by celebrity designer Anamika Khanna. The bride wore an orange-coloured Banarasi silk saree with gold and red borders. She paired it with a monotone blouse intricately enhanced with gold embellishments. While the saree was neatly pleated over the shoulder, a contrasting white veil over her head added a ceremonial touch to the look.

Mandanna’s jewellery was the highlight of her ensemble. While most brides are leaning towards minimalism, her look was gracefully extravagant. A maang tikka, nose pin, layers of necklaces, arm charms, bangles, haathphool, and rings, all crafted in gold, came together as heirloom pieces that celebrated tradition and timeless bridal opulence.

She kept her makeup very simple, letting the richness of her outfit and jewellery take centre stage. A dewy-finish base was enhanced with minimal blush and highlight. The eyes had a neutral eyeshadow and a sharp wing. The look finally came together with a neutral, glossy lipstick and a traditional bindi.

Her hairstyle, twisted tendrils tied back as a half updo with soft waves, added a soft, romantic touch.

Vijay Deverkonda: The traditional groom

Deverkonda’s look comprised of a traditional off-white dhoti with gold work and a red veil adorned with white embroidery. These elements didn’t just hold his outfit together in harmony, but helped the couple look cohesive and subtly coordinated.

With heavy temple-styled gold necklaces, earrings, and arm charms, the groom’s traditional silhouette was bold yet elegant. He completed his look with combed-back, wet-finish hair, a full moustache, and a stubble.

What truly stole the limelight though? Taking an unconventional route and breaking stereotypes, he wore the traditional alta on his hands and feet and also a traditional bindi, styled just like Rashmika’s! What a beautiful touch!

At the end, the black dots Rashmika and Vijay’s faces, to guard off the evil spirits, was a beautiful nod to age-odd customs. And, looking at their photos makes us think it was really needed!
