The Sandwich Makeup Magic

The world of makeup and beauty is an innovative one. Churning out new trends and techniques every now and then, the industry ensures that all concerns are catered to with ease. One such trend that has recently come to the limelight is the sandwich makeup trend. It’s one such trend that, if used properly, will work like a charm to cover your blemishes. Vidhi Arya from Professional Beauty India explores what it is all about.

Many times when we need to step out for a vacation or a party, we have an unexpected plus one — a pimple. However, social media has come up with a perfect hack to cover unwanted acne or zit marks and achieve a flawless finish.

This hack was first invented by beauty creator Erica Nicole. Now, it has taken the internet by storm and people are rooting for this method for a flawless makeup look. The technique involves layering products in such a “sandwich” manner. The technique seamlessly hides all imperfections and gives you a natural, clear skin. To help you with the same, here is a step-by-step guide to the sandwich makeup.

Step 1: Setting Spray

The setting spray, often the last step of a makeup routine is the base of this technique. Take a sufficient amount of setting spray in your palms and gently pat it on your skin. Then, wait for your skin to completely absorb it. This step will help you set up a strong, unshakable foundation for your makeup. All you have to do is — trust the process.

Step 2: Translucent Powder

Ensure your setting spray is fully absorbed into your skin and the face is dry. Once this is sure, add translucent powder. Take a concealer brush and gently dab your zit or mark with a translucent powder. This step is crucial to create a smooth base and decrease the redness of the mark.

Step 3: Concealer

This is one of the most essential aspects of the sandwich method. Here, instead of applying the concealer directly to the blemish, you must trace its outline. Use a concealer shade that matches your skin tone and with a brush, outline your blemish. Let it sit for five minutes. Then, blend the concealer inwards towards the blemish.

Step 4: Final Touch

To seal the look, you need to apply powder to the concealed area. On top of that, generously use a setting spray to lock in everything. This step ensures to lock in your makeup but it also adds a final touch of flawlessness.

Now that you know how the technique works, don’t you feel the name is appropriate? It’s also a great hack for your dark circles. All you need to do is follow nearly the same steps with a little twist. Take a brush, spritz some setting spray on it and then use it to apply concealer. Finally, finish it off with another shower of setting spray.

The technique might be very unique but it can be truly effective. So the next time you go out to a party or an event but a blemish pops up, you have a hack at hand.
