The White Door curates a wellness programme with Dr Rhea Mehta

Dr Rhea Mehta to use her expertise in molecular toxicology and nutritional biochemistry to help the customers of The White Door Salon, Bandra, to bridge the gap between cutting-edge health science and integrative lifestyle practices.

Dr Rhea Mehta, a Bio-toxicologist, Nutrition Scientist and Integrative Health Coach, has joined The White Door’s House of Talents. With a PhD in Molecular Toxicology and Nutritional Biochemistry from the University of Toronto, Dr Mehta brings over a decade of experience in health technology and wellness to this prestigious platform.

At The White Door, Dr Mehta introduces her exclusive 3-month programme, emphasising a plant-based, anti-inflammatory diet. She integrates detoxification techniques like lymphatic drainage massage, oil pulling, and Himalayan breathwork, offering clients a holistic path to rejuvenation.

In an exclusive interaction with Kanishka Ramchandani, she discusses how her expertise will bridge the gap between cutting-edge health science and integrative lifestyle practices.

How are you working with the customers of The White Door salon?

Currently, the White Door is marketing my services on their social media, which is the best way to connect with the customers. We’ve started inviting people to call in and schedule a free consultation, during which I explain the process.

It’s not like a regular session where you’re in and out; it involves many touchpoints over two to three months. During the consult, I try to understand the client—whether they have acute or chronic issues, their health goals, and intentions. From there, I make an assessment and provide a roadmap tailored to their health history. Often, we uncover long-standing issues, such as mould toxicity from 15 years ago, that we can now address and resolve.

Doctors don’t typically have time for such deep conversations, but I take a compassionate, loving Q&A approach. After gathering information, I put together a personalised roadmap. This includes a list of ingredients to buy, nutritional supplements, and restaurant recommendations for clean eating. I also provide health trackers to help clients monitor aspects like energy, emotional health, and digestion. We start slow, often just tracking for a day, which empowers clients to take further steps.

What are the most common concerns people come to you with?

I categorise clients into general health concerns and chronic illness. On the chronic side, I see conditions like cancer, autoimmune diseases, and chronic inflammation. While these take time and commitment, they are treatable naturally. Most clients, however, come with issues like fatigue, infertility, weight management, migraines, skin disturbances, and chronic pain. Many of these stem from inflammation.

Digestive health is often the starting point, as the gut is our second brain and the centre of our creativity, immunity, and overall health. Burnout and inflammation typically damage the gut lining, and my work involves replenishing the body with essential nutrients to restore optimal function.

Where do you see yourself five years down the line?

I envision being a leader in detoxification and nutritional well-being, helping thousands of people reclaim their fertility, balance their hormones, and understand that true beauty comes from within. I plan to establish detoxification and healing centres—one in Costa Rica and one in India. These centres will blend Ayurvedic and Western healing practices, leveraging the best of both worlds.

In India, I want to be part of the movement advocating for detoxification and natural health. Globally, I aim to create spaces for healing and collaboration while continuing to work one-on-one with clients, which brings me immense joy and fulfilment.
