In India’s growing beauty and wellness sector, YLG Salon and Institut has emerged as a transformative force in hairdressing education. The journey began with a bold step Rahul Bhalchandra and Vaijayanti Bhalchandra spearheaded India’s debut participation at the WorldSkills competition in London, 2010. Since then, YLG has remained at the forefront of professional grooming, bridging global benchmarks with local talent.
Under the leadership of CEO Rahul Bhalchandra and Director Vaijayanti Bhalchandra, the organisation has become a key contributor to India’s national skill-building mission. Their consistent efforts were recognised by the Karnataka Skills Authority, honouring them in both 2023 and 2024 for mentoring young state champions who earned accolades at the India Skills National Competitions.
YLG Institut, as the official training partner of the Government of Karnataka in hairdressing and beauty therapy, has helped create structured learning paths for aspirants under 20. These students are trained for India Skills, the country’s largest skill competition under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
The India Skills 2024 edition, launched in May at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, witnessed 900+ competitors and over 400 industry experts across 30+ states and UTs. With categories ranging from bakery to graphic design and jewellery making to hairdressing, it highlighted the dynamic spectrum of skills shaping India’s youth.
Beyond technical proficiency, YLG Institut imparts training in industry ethics, client engagement, and global beauty standards. This holistic model ensures that students don’t just gain skills, they evolve into confident, career-ready professionals who can lead India’s beauty industry forward.
