The Timeless Grace of a Maharashtrian Bride

As the bridal season approaches, the grace of traditions takes centre stage, and there’s nothing quite as captivating as the timeless beauty of a Marathi bride. Vidhi Arya from Professional Beauty India breaks down the iconic looks of a Maharashtrian bride that truly captures hearts.

Minimalist yet Regal

This makeup and hair look brings out the best of traditions in a soft, minimal way.

Face Makeup: The makeup consists of a flawless, matte base created using a well-blended foundation that matches her skin tone. A touch of translucent powder keeps the look matte and long-lasting. A subtle peach-pink blush adds warmth and a healthy glow and completes the look.

Eyes: A smoky eye look features earthy tones like deep brown or burgundy. The well-blended colours add depth to the look. Additionally, the thin liner on the upper lashes complements the eyeshadow. And, the voluminous yet natural lashes and brows add an extra oomph.

Lips: A soft, neutral lipstick complements the overall traditional look. The shade is a mix of a muted brown with a hint of pink.

Hair: The hairstyle is a traditional hairdo for most Maharashtrian brides. The hairstyle features a bun with a soft centre parting and volume in the crown.

Modern Elegance with Traditional Touch

This look is a gorgeous union of contemporary glamour and traditional elegance.

Face Makeup: A flawless, dewy base creates a smooth and even-toned complexion. A muted rose or berry-toned blush complements the maroon saree and enhances the bride’s glow. Soft contouring around the cheekbones and jawline enhances her facial structure without being too sharp.

Eyes: Her eyes have a warm, plum-toned eyeshadow palette that matches well with the saree. You can notice a gradient of darker shades on the outer corners and a lighter shimmer near the inner corners. The play of colours creates a soft, smokey effect. The black liner on the upper lid and kohl on the lower ones complete the look with added grace.

Lipstick: A deep, muted plum or berry shade highlights the lips and complements the eyeshadow and the overall colour palette of the outfit. The matte finish balances the dewy glow on the face.

Hair: The bride flaunts edgy, loose, glamorous waves that cascade down her shoulders. The hair has a middle part with a slick finish that converts into soft, voluminous curls.

Traditional Bridal Glam with a Modern Touch

This Maharashtrian bride look finds its roots in traditional aesthetics and is enhanced with a modern touch of elegance.

Face Makeup: The bride’s skin is flawless and matte, achieved through a medium-to-full coverage foundation. A soft, peach-toned blush complements the base.

Eyes: The neutral, smokey look emphasises the eyes. The outer corners have darker brown shades, while a light shimmer highlights the inner corners. Furthermore, a fine, black liner defines her eyes. The brows are neat, well-shaped and filled in to create a defined look.

Lips: She is wearing a muted, rosy-pink lip colour with a satin finish. The shade complements the warmer tones of her eyeshadow and blush.

Hair: The bride’s hair features a classic bun with volume at the crown. The middle parting with soft tendrils frames the face and adds softness and femininity.
