Sandeep Shrestha drew inspiration from the vibrant hues of the Indian tricolour and the indomitable spirit of India’s 76th Republic Day to create a stunning eye makeup look. As a makeup artist with a love for experimenting with colours, he masterfully blended saffron, white, and green to craft a tribute that’s as artistic as it is patriotic.
Here’s how he achieved this tricolour-inspired makeup look.
“I began by applying an eye primer to ensure the colours stayed vibrant and true to their shades.
To create a sharp crease, I started with an orange shade on the inner crease, layering deeper tones of orange to add depth and dimension.
Next, I applied a white eye primer to intensify the eyeshadow and make the colours pop. To enhance the sharpness of the cut crease, I packed on a matte white eyeshadow as well as added a touch of white glitter for some extra drama.
For the outer corners and lower lash line, I softly smudged a green shade to balance the look. Finally, I completed the eye makeup with mascara and a pair of falsies for that perfect finish.”

Unnati Singh created a look that brought about a beautiful use of the Indian tricolour in the beauty space. The vision behind the creative styling for Republic Day was to showcase the brilliance of the industry while emphasising wearable beauty.
Explaining her vision behind the look, she says, “Makeup is not always about fantasy; it’s about creating looks that reflect depth and meaning. Inspired by Republic Day, we used the Indian flag’s tricolour to evoke patriotism, celebrating its significance through gestures and thoughts that uplift the spirit.”
She further adds, “This special look enhances the essence of the tricolour with a creative hairstyle and glamorous makeup, making it not only patriotic but also versatile. Perfect for Republic Day, it’s a wearable look that can also be recreated for regular parties.”
