Beautiful Hearts Fund, headed by Blessing A Manikandan, CEO, TONI& GUY, joined Carter clean up drive at Bandra bandstand. On the morning of Saturday, the 4th of February. And the manpower of Mumbai’s hairdressing fraternity joined hands with Blessing in yet another community initiative. The entire team of Carter Clean Up was present. Armed with gloves, bags and brooms, to pick up garbage from the beach patches. Next to the Carter road promenade in Bandra.
Putting their time and efforts into this initiative were Uday Takke and his team of students. Along with Mahesh Ravaria & Ratnendra Bhaduri of Beauty Garage, Irfan Memon & Rajesh Vailaya of Olivia and Shanmugha Kumar & Latha Verghis of Page 3 Salon from Coimbatore.
The Carter Clean Up team comes across all kinds of waste including furniture, soft toys, mattresses and construction debris that washed up.Either from the sea or illegally deposited on the beach. Speaking to Professional Beauty, Freishia Bomanbehram, one of the Co-Founders of Carter Clean Up, said that, “Harold Fernandes started cleaning up the beach in Bandra during the lockdown. Slowly we all joined him and it became a movement. So now we come here every Saturday. And have been doing so for 82 weeks. We’ve collected more than 20k kg of marine waste and 30k kg of debris. We work from 8 to 10 every Saturday morning.”
The event concluded with a cake cutting ceremony as a celebration of Blessing’s birthday. Along with the Carter Clean Up team and the salon community volunteers. After the clean-up drive, the Beautiful Heart Fund participants headed to St Anthony’s Old Age Home. To continue the birthday celebrations.
