The gathering reinforced the spirit of innovation and collaboration that defines the Wella Professionals network.
At the grand finale, Lalruattluanga competed against national winners from around the world. He truly stood out for his exceptional skill and vision. It was a milestone moment for India as he was the first-ever Indian to win a title at the finale.

The journey and the winning look
His journey to Malta began at the India Finale of TrendVision 2024–25, held at Andaz, New Delhi. Out of 66,000 entries from across the country, he competed in the finale alongside 20 of India’s top hairstylists. He was one of the national winners in the colour category who went ahead to compete in the Global finale.
For his winning creation, Lalruattluanga took inspiration from the golden sunsets of Shillong. It was also aligned with this year’s theme — “Golden Hour.” Using Wella Professionals Koleston Perfect Me+, he created a look featuring warm, blended highlights and soft root shadows. His colour story beautifully captured the radiant, peaceful glow of dusk, which is a moment of transition, hope, and new beginnings.
Let’s hear from the winner himself
“The Golden Hour reminds us to pause and find peace, that even at the end of a long day, beauty remains. Through my work, I wanted to capture that feeling and reflect it in every strand. To me, the Golden Hour represents both the quiet beauty of endings and the promise of new beginnings. In those fleeting moments, when the sky glows warm and golden, there’s a sense of calm that wraps around you, a reminder that no matter how exhausting the day has been, there is still light, still hope.
In today’s fast-paced world, I believe it’s important to hold on to that sense of stillness and comfort, and I tried to translate that emotion into hair, turning a visual moment into a lasting impression. I’m truly ecstatic to have received this honour on a global stage, it feels surreal to be the first Indian to bring this title home.”
