Hair Contouring is a relatively understated term and method of styling the hair. It wields subtle power to enhance the way a person looks based on the bone structure. Here are some of the facts and pros of Hair Contouring.

Most people are unaware of the power held by hairstyling. Even a subtle change in haircut and style can make or break the look. Understanding the details that elevate the overall look is what hair contouring is all about. The bone structure of a person determines what hair styling and framing would suit them.

HAIR CONTOURING

This method of styling can be easily compared to face contouring. The way contour enhances the face structure, similarly, the strategic hair highlights and cuts can compliment the face shape.

Adding highlights and darker tones to tresses based on the face shape and the feature to accentuate is hair contouring. The addition or reduction of hair pigments can add another dimension to the way a person looks. For example, contracting dark hair can accentuate the bone structure with lighter tones can soften the features.

Hair contouring techniques change according to different face shapes and structures. Here’s how each face shape affects the way a person looks:

HEART-SHAPED

For this type of face, side-swept bangs look great as they help balance the wide forehead with a narrow chin. Similarly, adding darker tones near the chin area adds to the depth. This enhances the natural features.

OVAL

This face type is curved around the edges and needs no further softening. There are no angular shapes to soften either. Therefore oval-shaped faces are the easiest for styling. Simply add some highlights near cheekbones and jawline to draw attention to them and that’s all!

ROUND

Adding highlights near cheekbones and jaw defines the round faces. It highlights these areas by adding dimension because there are no angles on a round face.

SQUARED

A squared face has more angles and therefore it is tricky business to style just correctly. The lighter highlights around the hairline and temple help add some softness to the structure. It provides a more rounded appearance.

Hair contouring plays a great role in achieving a flattering look regularly without much effort. It offers just pros and no cons and is therefore worth trying.
