This Women’s Day, we deep dive into the journey of Megha Arora, Founder, 3TenX. In a candid conversation with Vidhi Arya, she shares her vision, her philosophy on building with integrity, navigating challenges, and creating haircare that delivers real performance.

Megha Arora’s journey into entrepreneurship was very organic and deeply rooted in experience. When she stepped into the beauty industry, she didn’t set out to “start a brand” initially. After spending over 15 years working closely with salons, stylists, and global haircare brands, she developed a strong understanding of how the industry functions from the inside. With this she stepped into the entrepreneurial role and 3TenX came to being.

Speaking of the initial days, she recalled the tipping point that moved the needle towards 3TenX. She said, “What stayed with me was a growing realisation: Indian haircare was either aspirational but inaccessible, or accessible but underperforming. My strongest aim when I began was simple—to build a professional haircare brand that delivered real results, without illusion. I wanted to create something honest, performance-driven, and rooted in trust.”

In the Face of Challenges

The start towards building something from ground up is never easy, and Megha faced her own set of challenges. She says, “The most challenging phase was the early building stage: when nothing is visible, but everything is at stake. From getting formulations right, to earning salon trust, to managing skepticism around an Indian-founded professional brand, there were moments of intense pressure.”

This phase reshaped her understanding of resilience and leadership. She learned that leadership isn’t always about reacting emotionally, but about staying steady through uncertainty.  She elaborates, “It’s about staying calm, making clear decisions, and holding your ground quietly. True resilience is consistency, not noise.”

Making a Mark for Herself

As a woman entrepreneur in India, there are moments when one has to push harder to be taken seriously. As Megha acknowledges this reality, she has her way of dealing with them. She says, “Yes, there were moments especially early on when credibility was questioned simply because I was a woman speaking with conviction in a professional, male-dominated ecosystem.”

How she dealt with it? Her response was rooted in focus and discipline. “I dealt with it by letting work speak louder than words. Instead of over-explaining, I focused on building strong results, strong partnerships, and a brand that performed consistently. Over time, confidence comes not from proving yourself repeatedly but from knowing your value and staying steady.”

How Megha Arora Views Beauty Today

For Megha, her relationship with beauty has evolved over time. What once felt aspirational now feels deeply grounded. She reflects, “Earlier, beauty felt aspirational or something to chase. Today, beauty feels grounded. It’s about confidence, comfort, and authenticity.”

This shift has strongly influenced the philosophy behind 3TENX. “We don’t sell perfection, we deliver performance. I want clients to experience haircare that works in real life, not just in campaigns. When someone uses 3TENX, I want them to feel empowered, not pressured, to feel good because their hair genuinely behaves better,” she shares.

The Philosophy She Leads By

Her approach to leadership and decision-making is guided by clarity, especially during uncertain times. She believes in slowing down rather than reacting in haste. “I believe in operating with clarity over chaos. When things feel uncertain, I slow down instead of rushing decisions. Calm thinking leads to better outcomes,” Megha says.

Another philosophy that shapes her journey is long-term thinking rooted in integrity. “Another guiding belief is: build with integrity, not urgency. Trends pass, noise fades—but brands built with honesty and intention last.” This principle influences not just how she builds her brand, but also how she leads her team and defines growth for 3TENX.

A Message for the Fellow Women in Business

One of the most important lessons Megha has carried forward is staying true to herself, even when external pressures arise. “The biggest lesson is this: don’t dilute yourself to be accepted. Your clarity, your voice, and your values are your biggest strengths,” she says.

Sharing her message with young women aspiring to carve their own path in the beauty industry, Megha adds, “Learn deeply, be patient, and trust your instincts. You don’t need to rush success or copy someone else’s journey. Build slowly, build honestly, and build something you’re proud to stand behind.”
