Backed by LTA School of Beauty, the new Retail Academy introduces structured retail sales training for career-ready professionals. In an EXCLUSIVE conversation with Priyanka Parshurami, Biju Nair, Founder & Director, LTA Retail Academy, outlines how this initiative aims to bridge critical skill gaps in retail sales and build confident, industry-ready talent.
Building on its 21-year legacy in the Indian beauty and hair education sector, LTA School of Beauty has expanded its portfolio with the launch of LTA Retail Academy (LRA). As an extension of a recognised and trusted institution, the academy brings structured, professional training to the retail sales domain, an area that has long lacked formalised learning pathways.
With this initiative, LTA aims to position retail sales as a defined and aspirational career path, equipping both entry-level professionals and existing workforce talent with the capabilities required to succeed in a competitive, customer-driven environment.
At its core, LRA has been designed to help individuals understand the broader retail ecosystem while encouraging a goal-oriented approach to career building. Through comprehensive, industry-relevant modules, the academy equips learners with a multidimensional understanding of retail sales, enabling accelerated and structured career progression.
While domain knowledge in beauty and retail is often accessible, a clear gap persists in applied skills, particularly in areas such as timing a sales pitch, articulating product value, and effectively communicating FAB (Features, Advantages, Benefits). LRA’s curriculum directly addresses these gaps, with a strong focus on practical, real-world competencies that enhance both individual performance and overall customer experience.
“The training framework extends beyond conventional selling techniques. It is designed to develop well-rounded retail professionals capable of contributing to operational efficiency, inventory management, visual merchandising, and promotional strategies”, says Biju Nair, Founder & Director, LTA Retail Academy. He further adds, “This holistic approach ensures that graduates evolve from sales associates to strategic contributors to business growth.”
The programme structure further reinforces this approach, offering a two-level certification pathway covering retail skills, operations, and applied retail management, culminating in a Professional Executive Diploma in Retail Management.
Reinforcing its commitment to continuous learning, LTA Retail Academy commenced its journey with its first online session on March 18, led by Founder-Director Biju Nair. The session focused on ‘Confidence’, a foundational trait in retail sales, and witnessed participation from over 50 retail sales professionals.
Addressing the session, Biju Nair stated, “Confidence is not just a trait; it is the foundation of a successful career in retail sales. It enables professionals to grow, adapt, and consistently deliver value in customer interactions.”
Building on this momentum, the second session is scheduled for March 25, 2026, and will focus on ‘Rapport Building,’ further strengthening interpersonal and customer engagement skills.
Certification remains a key differentiator. Backed by a credible and reputed institution, LRA’s certification serves as a strong validation of skills and competency, enabling employers to efficiently identify and prioritise qualified candidates while reducing hiring timelines.
With a long-term vision to become the most sought-after retail training academy for global employers, LTA Retail Academy is positioned as a catalyst in shaping future-ready retail sales professionals from India.
